Why Was My Pet Adoption Denied by the Rescue Group?

If the rescue rejected you, they probably had a reason.

It may be a temporary situation that must be resolved, such as building a fence or waiting for a child to grow a little more, but it is probably due to one of the following reasons:

* You lied in your application. Bad move.

* Your house is not safe. No rescue will place an animal in a home where its safety is in question. If you do not have a safe yard, if your family members always leave the door or door open, or if you have hazardous home improvement projects going on, do not expect the rescue to approve it. Talk about it to see if you can remedy the problem.

* It was not a good match. You may think that Twinkles is the perfect kitten for you, but the rescue may think otherwise. They know the animal and what they need in terms of their perfect home. If it's not a good match, do not get mad. Talk to the rescue about another pet that may be better for you.
You wanted an "outdoor dog". Dogs are not ornaments for the lawn. They are social animals that deserve to be part of your family. You do not have to leave them on the couch, but if you plan to chain your adoptive puppy in the yard, do not expect the adoption to be fulfilled.

* He is under 21 years old. In addition to insurance obligations, rescues do not like to adopt young people because they generally do not know where they will be in 5 years. If you go to college, you will not be able to take your pet with you. If you move to a building where pets are not allowed, you should find a new home for the animal. Of course, there are exceptions: if you are living a stable life, especially if you are married or in a permanent relationship, and live in your own home, the rescue could change the age rule.

* Yours is a military family. Too many pets come to the rescue when their families are deployed. If your family has a history of moving from one base to another, the rescue will probably reject you, simply because you will not know the circumstances of your family's next release. If you are living in permanent housing, the rescue should be fine with that. If it is not, look for another rescue.

* You're weird. Okay, this is the main reason why I reject the applicants, even if it is completely subjective. If an applicant argues with me or gets angry with me, that's it. Other times, my instinct tells me, no, and I trust my instinct. Rescues do not tell you when they reject you because of your bad behaviour or attitude, so if they rejected you for inexplicable reasons, it's likely that you're weird.
